I am pleased to be invited to share with you some of my ideas about what to wear for travelling. I know that the readers of this website are interested in fashion tips for all and how to incorporate good fashion in our travel clothes.
I am all for that. You don't have to have travel clothes that are just practical, but how do we combine comfort and fashion at the same time?
Well let's go beyond the basics and give you some ideas on what to wear for travelling that incorporates some fashion tips.
Here is a list of 10 travel clothes tips for you to incorporate in what to wear for your future travelling.
What To Wear For Travelling
Never take a piece of clothing that can only be worn on its own, you must be able to wear it with every other item in your travel wardrobe.
Never take heavy items unless you are going to a really cold climate. It always looks more fashionable to layer.
Try to keep the light colors for accessories and don't make it your base color. When it comes to holiday clothes, dark colors are easier to keep clean.
One does not have to buy a whole new wardrobe just to look fashionable when travelling. A fashion tip would be to get a few affordable travel clothes in this year's color. You can add a day bag or scarf or a tee and it will be enough to keep you in the fashion trend.
Don't start dressing inappropriately just because you don't know what to wear for travelling. Keep dressing for your body type, style and age. You do not want to suddenly be wearing something new only to find it makes you feel uncomfortable.
We all want to look fashionable but do not make this a priority over comfort when it comes to shoes. Never wear brand new ones when you go on a trip. You can wear fashionable flats, and sandals or even safe and comfortable walking shoes. This is a time when you may want to think twice about that high heel unless you absolutely have to take them for a special occasion. Remember that rule about wearing everything more than once. You may ruin your feet. You won't look so fashionable limping and it is not fun.
*Editor's Note: Need something classy, yet comfortable to walk around in? Invest in a Crocs Women's Leigh Wedge! I have one of these for myself and I vouch for it. My Leigh wedge has been a faithful companion all through my India, Phuket and Indonesia trips!
I always recommend a scarf or two. They can be worn with anything and definitely change up an outfit depending on the color and how you tie it. This is definitely what I would call affordable fashion clothes
Jewellery is another light weight and simple option that can make you look more trendy.
Nothings makes you look more out dated than a bad hairstyle. Go in before your trip and get a good cut. Make sure it is easy to care for and you will always look great!
Here is something you may not have thought about when it comes to what to wear for travelling. Your nails can be a fashion statement also, so get the latest nail polish color and don't forget the pedicure.

Personal Note:
Oh the recession, we hear about it all day long, on the radio, the 11, 5, and 10 o’clock news. Tuning in for hope, only to hear the redundant words “ well folks, it’s going to get worse.” This of course affects many aspects of our lives but it does not have to affect our ability to enjoy life even when times get tough. Maybe this means that you have to cut the visits to the nail salons, hair salons and not get that Marc Jacobs bag you really wanted to match with your lovely new pumps. Maybe it means that your credit card will have take a hiatus for a bit. The good news is that we as human beings have an innate ability to adapt to different situations and environments, why not adapt to this period and find ways to serve your feminine primping needs without putting a dent in your budget.
Look at the clothes you already have in your closet and find ways to create new outfits. One of the comments I always get from my friends is that it always seems I have a new outfit on, that they’ve never seen me in the same outfit twice. Well of course that’s not the case, I don’t go crazy shopping for a new daily look. What I do look for are new ways to switch up the clothes I already have. Layering, cutting old jeans into shorts, long skirt into short skirt. Adding a cool motorcycle jacket to a cute short dress can punk up a look but still keep it feminine, sexy and cool. Putting tights under shorts with a loose top and boots, rolling up skinny jeans with your favorite pumps. Your closet can be full of hidden treasures!

I love wearing dresses. I especially love wearing dresses in the wintertime because I get to wear styles I usually can’t pull off during the warm seasons. For those of us that do not have the long, sleek thighs of a supermodel, cold weather provides a perfect opportunity to wear those mini skirts and short dresses without exposing our not so perfect body parts. From shirt dresses, to tunics to ruffle skirts, the possibilities of flattering winter fashion are endless! Take the opportunity during this cold season to wear all your favorite short styles.
Take a short dress, layer it with tights, boots and a jacket and you have your-self an alluring and feminine look. Wearing tights also provide the mental security of protecting your dimple areas form being exposed, hence giving you more confidence while your strutting your stuff in your favorite short dress. You can also wear black tights that are lace with a
sexy design; this will dress up your outfit and add a sultry feel to it. Floral prints are really in and can be a great way to switch things up. If you’re the type that loves black you can choose a darker color pattern like the purple floral tea dress from www.us.topshop.com. I say don’t be afraid to change things up, keep it fresh!
If you have arm issues, wintertime should be a reason to rejoice! Now you are able to wear a sexy short dress without having to expose your arms.. They are basically sweater dresses that range from all sorts of styles and designs. One of my favorites is the Le Mont St. Michel tunic dress, it is just above the knee, wool and topped with little gold bows. It is perfect for the girl whose style veers away form the conventional without loosing class. If you want to hide that pot belly that haunts you in every dressing room, choose a tunic dress that is loose at the waist area, it will do wonders for your shape and give you more confidence. Marc by Marc Jacobs ‘Celeste” tunic dress is a great example, not only will it hide your upper arms and pot belly, it has pockets, and I love dresses with pockets! I also love to wear tunic dresses when it’s that time of the month, or as I like to say it your “fat days”, combined with a pair of sexy tights, I feel confident and don’t have to worry about sucking it in all the time. Hooray for great designs that won’t strip you of the sex appeal!
